Oasis interdites d'Ella Maillart
Oasis Interdites is the travel narrative about the journey Ella Maillart and Peter Fleming did in the Xinjiand in 1935 China. It is one of the best books by the author from Geneva and certainly one of his most famous. It is actually a key text for the field of travel narratives. Written between the two wars it is helping us to answer the following questions: how to react to a world in transformation? How to represent in words the spontaneous experience of travel? How to express the richness of intercultural contacts?
